Through our Sustainable Rural Development programme, we promote sustainable production, generating income for rural producers and helping to build more prosperous and resilient communities.
The Terra Doce programme was born from Instituto Terra’s experience in restoring ecosystems and safeguarding natural resources. Building on the award-winning Olhos D’Água Programme, which has mobilised communities since 2010 to restore springs and water sources, Terra Doce expands this legacy by integrating environmental conservation, economic development and cultural transformation in rural areas.
With initiatives such as spring restoration, soil and water conservation, the installation of biodigesters, and the implementation of Agroforestry Systems (AFS).
The programme improves land use, strengthens value chains, and inspires new ways of living and producing within the region.
