Our team collects seeds in our own forest and in forest fragments, covering a radius of up to 200km, to guarantee the genetic variability of our seedlings.
The heart of Instituto Terra has the capacity to grow up to 500,000 seedlings a year, which are used in our various programs. More than 300 different forest species have already passed through here.
The seedlings are planted both in our forest and on small and medium-sized rural properties registered in our programs, helping to restore the Atlantic Forest and native fauna.
Planting trees together with improvements such as biodigesters or dams helps to restore springs and preserve water resources, making communities more resilient.
With water security, farmers are encouraged to gradually convert their production to agroforestry and silvopastoral models, increasing their income and bringing environmental benefits to the land.
We train environmental technicians to work in the local market and raise awareness among children, young people and communities so that they become multipliers of good environmental practices.
