Com o Programa Olhos D’Água o Instituto Terra segue firme em seu propósito de ajudar a recuperar todas as nascentes da bacia hidrográfica do Rio Doce, estimadas em cerca de 400 mil. Para isso, desde o início o programa tem sido realizado a partir de inúmeras parcerias com importantes agentes da iniciativa pública e privada, viabilizando os recursos necessários para as ações de proteção. Conheça abaixo mais dois desses parceiros com projetos em andamento no município de Aimorés, em Minas Gerais:
Vale – Até o final deste ano, mais 474 nascentes do rio Capim, afluente do rio Doce que corta Aimorés, em Minas Gerais, estarão protegidas a partir da parceria com a Vale. O projeto foi iniciado em setembro de 2012 e vai beneficiar diretamente 180 produtores rurais, que vão contar com o cercamento das nascentes, plantio de mudas nativas para revegetação da área de entorno dos olhos d’água, implantação de fossa séptica biodigestora (tecnologia Embrapa) para tratamento do esgoto doméstico e projeto técnico de adequação ambiental da propriedade, viabilizando o Cadastro Ambiental Rural. Até o final do projeto o Instituto Terra também vai manter o monitoramento de 10% das nascentes protegidas como forma de identificar os ganhos obtidos com as ações de proteção.
IEF – Instituto Estadual de Florestas – Convênio com o órgão do Governo de Minas Gerais está viabilizando a doação de insumos como mourões, arame e grampos necessários para construção das cercas no entorno de 150 olhos d’água no município de Aimorés, Minas Gerais. Ao receber esse material, os próprios produtores rurais cadastrados no programa vão receber as orientações técnicas para realizar a proteção das nascentes, o que deverá estar integralmente concluído até fevereiro de 2018.
