A luta pelo equilíbrio ambiental não tem fronteiras. Sediada na França, a Fundação Lemarchand é uma importante incentivadora das ações do Instituto Terra na recuperação da Mata Atlântica e do Rio Doce.
Ao longo dos últimos anos, já apoiou ações de reflorestamento e custeio de gastos com gestão administrativa da ONG ambiental fundada por Lélia Wanick e Sebastião Salgado. No ano de 2019 voltou a destinar recursos, desta vez para apoiar na continuidade da formação de novos alunos no curso de de formação de “Agentes de Restauração Ecossistêmica”.
Organização filantrópica familiar criada há 11 anos com a missão de apoiar projetos que visam reconectar o homem à natureza, a Lemarchand assumiu o compromisso de destinar 27 mil Euros por ano, entre 2019 e 2021, para garantir a formação de três alunos a cada turma anual do Núcleo de Estudos em Restauração Ecossistêmica (Nere).
“Acreditamos que a educação é a única maneira de ter um impacto verdadeiramente positivo em nossas práticas ecológicas humanas e, portanto, em nosso meio ambiente a longo prazo”, disse Laure Fourteau-Lemarchand, da Fundação Lemarchand.
Laure ressalta que ao ensinar às novas gerações como viver de maneira a não prejudicar o meio ambiente e até restaurar os ecossistemas, o Instituto Terra está construindo uma nova maneira de pensar em nosso relacionamento com a natureza. “É exatamente isso que a Fundação Lemarchand visa: tornar novamente harmoniosa a relação entre homem e natureza”, acrescenta. “Esperamos que esses jovens que se formam no programa do Instituto Terra sejam os líderes locais de amanhã, capazes de disseminar ainda mais essas novas práticas e convencer seus pares de nossa necessidade vital de ter um relacionamento respeitoso com a Natureza”, justifica Laure Fourteau-Lemarchand.
O curso – A capacitação em recuperação de áreas degradadas de Mata Atlântica e proteção de nascentes é uma das principais iniciativas do Instituto Terra na área de Educação Ambiental. Oferecida gratuitamente desde 2005, a formação é voltada para técnicos agrícolas, agropecuários, ambientais e florestais recém-formados, e já capacitou mais de 170 técnicos. Esses jovens aprendem na prática, participando dos projetos desenvolvidos pelo Instituto Terra na área de reflorestamento, proteção de nascentes e desenvolvimento rural sustentável. Com a oferta de 20 vagas anualmente, o curso funciona em uma estrutura própria na RPPN Fazenda Bulcão, que tem capacidade para alojar gratuitamente os estudantes durante o período de formação, que dura um ano. Saem aptos a atuar como incentivadores do desenvolvimento rural sustentável, auxiliando os pequenos produtores rurais, em suas cidades de origem.
